"And you have to ask those two questions — who am I linked with in my oppression and have I myself become an oppressor inadvertently or deliberately, thinking that my historical victim status makes it definitionally impossible for me to oppress others?"
yoru-e yeah I read he was a strong believer of the caste system and he believed that’s how a just society should be
softmami yes definitely! I had no idea either until a few months ago and when I found out I couldn’t believe it. Idk how they teach you guys in the US but I’m assuming it’s similar to us in the UK. Like with MLK they’ve completely altered his true image into this white ppl/peace loving guy and Malcolm X is the aggressive guy with extreme values who’s views were too violent. Pacifism is always this idea that’s so glorified and it always seems to be the answer in these history books
It’s so weird how most of your life in school you’re taught how great Ghandi was…like even his title connotes he was this great saint-like person—and I guess he was for his people but it’s so sad y’know…….someone like him….who greatly inspired ppl like MLK…….to think that he truly and wholeheartedly believed black ppl were the scum of the earth….the lowest of the low….wow
IS BERSERK EVER GONNA END?! GRIFFITH IS LIKE A GOD COMPARED TO GUTS….LMAO THIS STORY WONT FINISH TILL IM 80….
